Earlier this year I received a beautiful email from Kelly & Lloyd asking if I would be their photographer on their special day. When I said Yes, I didn’t realise just how special it would be. Over the last year, we have had numerous get togethers to discuss all the details of the wedding. As part of Kelly and Lloyds wedding package they received a complimentary engagement session, this was a great opportunity to see how these guys connect as a couple and allow them to become familiar with me and how I photograph.
With so much preparation and everything locked it we were all set and ready to photograph this amazing day!
1 November 2014 – the sun was shining and it was forecast to be 37 degrees! Little did we know!…………..
Skye and I headed up to Somersby Gardens Estate to photograph the bride and bridesmaids getting ready. She looked BEAUTIFUL and so did the bridesmaids!
We left and headed to Kiddies Corner and eagerly awaited the arrival of the bridal party on horse back and soon after the Bride arrived by beach buggy. The bride was about to walk down the aisle when lightening began to appear. Kelly ran straight up to Lloyd and threw her arms around him, and Lloyd was grinning from ear to ear as he cuddled her. The heavens opened up and debris began flying around us but in that moment it was all about them and their love for each other. It was like a scene from The Notebook!
Fast forward two hours it was take 2 of the ceremony, Kelly was dry and ready to walk down the aisle and Lloyd was still smiling! Although things didn’t go according to plan, it was a beautiful day and I am so glad that Skye and I were able to be there to share it with you both.
