What’s Included
- Pre‑session consultation to discuss themes, colours and any food allergies.
- Use of props and outfits suitable for cake smash sessions (you can also supply your own).
- Up to one hour of photography, allowing time for portraits before, during and after the cake smash.
- Optional splash or bubble bath session after the cake smash for extra cute, clean photos.
- Professional retouching on your selected images and an online gallery with print options.
Note; for allergy reasons the cake is not included! You are welcome to make your own or have a cake decorator make one. You can also go “cakeless” and just do balloons!
How It Works
- Enquire & plan – Contact us at least 4–6 weeks before your baby’s first birthday. We’ll discuss dates, themes.
- Prepare – We’ll send a guide on outfits and what to expect. If you’re providing the cake, keep it simple (soft buttercream works best).
- Session day – We arrive with our mobile studio, set up the scene and let your baby explore. We’ll capture portraits before the smash, during the messy fun and clean photos afterwards.
- Gallery & artwork – Within two weeks you’ll receive a proof gallery to select your favourite images. We offer prints, albums and wall art so you can display these memories proudly.

When should I book a cake smash session?
We recommend booking 4–6 weeks in advance of your baby’s first birthday. This allows time for planning themes and ordering cakes or props.
Do you provide the cake?
No, due to allergies, we do not provide cakes but you are welcome to provide your own cake—just avoid hard icing or decorations that could pose a choking hazard.
How should I prepare my baby?
Make sure your child is well‑rested and fed before the session. Dress them in an outfit you don’t mind getting messy; we also have outfits on hand. Bring a towel and a change of clothes for after the session. If they have sensitive skin please bring along your preferred soap
Can siblings or parents join in?
No, Cake Smash Sessions only include your baby but if you would like family and siblings, please choose a family photoshoot instead!
What if my baby doesn’t like cake?
Every baby reacts differently. Sometimes it’s the texture or the unfamiliarity. We take our time and allow your child to explore at their own pace. Even hesitant reactions can make for adorable photos. Having a favourite snack or toy on hand can also help.
